LEVITICUS FUND - Faith Capital for Building Communities A community development fund for socially-responsive investors

Ways to Borrow > Overview

From urban... to suburban... to rural..., the Leviticus Fund is a community development loan fund that spans the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. This geographic landscape is certainly broad, yet the challenges for affordable and supportive housing, suitable community facilities and accessible child care cut across the region. Of specific concern is the situation in the inner-ring, “first” suburbs found near the region's major cities. These older communities grapple with an uneven “playing field” so to speak. They are home to a concentration of elderly and newly arriving immigrants, both groups most vulnerable to the twists and turns of our economy.

Leviticus recognizes that creating opportunities in these communities often makes a critical difference. That is why we partner with nonprofit organizations that are strong advocates for their communities.

Our mission is to offer low interest financing to nonprofit organizations...
to purchase land...
to rehabilitate or expand existing structures...
for new construction...

that creates affordable housing for lower income people and supportive housing for those with mental or physical disabilities, a history of substance abuse, or are living with HIV/AIDS. For those needing support services to rebuild their personal lives, Leviticus offers loans to build community-based facilities providing emergency shelter, youth services, domestic violence support and employment training. For child care, Leviticus lends to both nonprofits and proprietary child care centers whose enrollment includes at least 50 percent of low-income families.
